Bodycam Weapon Crates Rework: Random Attachments in V0.9

Bodycam's v0.9 update changes weapon crates to grant random attachments using the same system as equipment attachments. Here is what that means in practice.

One of the quieter but most gameplay-relevant changes in Bodycam's v0.9 "The Dead & Damned" update (November 13, 2026) is a rework of the weapon crates (loot crates that appear during matches): they now dispense random weapon attachments, running on the same attachment system that governs equipment customization.

This page explains what is officially confirmed and what it means for match play. Exact attachment pools and drop rates are not published; those will be documented after launch from in-game observation.

What Is Confirmed

From the developer's official Steam announcement (October 30, 2026):

  • The weapon-crate system changes in v0.9.
  • Crates now hand out random modifications (attachments).
  • These modifications use the same system as equipment attachments ("по той же системе обвесов, которая используется для экипировки" — the attachment/loadout system used for gear).

Context: Bodycam's Attachment System

Bodycam's store-page feature set includes ground-up firearm building with a large attachment library, where each attachment affects speed, stability, and precision. In normal loadouts, you choose attachments deliberately in the gunsmith. The v0.9 crate rework borrows that system for in-match loot:

  • Attachments become match loot — a crate drop can modify your weapon's handling mid-round instead of simply granting a different gun.
  • Randomness enters loadouts — unlike the pre-planned gunsmith build, crate attachments are random, creating mid-match adaptation decisions: equip the rolled attachment for its stat boost, or keep your deliberate build.

Why the Change Fits the Update's Theme

V0.9 is a zombie-focused update, and random-attachment crates lean into PvE pacing: looting a crate during a wave and gambling on a roll is a classic horde-mode loop, and it gives the new Zombie Trenches mode (plus returning Village/Asylum rotations) a progression feel inside a single session. The official announcement does not state whether crate behavior differs between PvP and zombie modes — another detail to watch in patch notes.

What to Verify After Launch

  • Which attachments can appear from crates (pool list)
  • Whether rolls are per-player or shared per crate
  • Any rarity tiers applied to rolls
  • Interaction with the gunsmith: whether crate attachments persist after the match (almost certainly not, but unconfirmed)
  • PvP versus zombie-mode differences, if any

This page will be updated with observed pools and drop behavior once the update is live and testable.
